Or at least, on the water. Yup, this is the very first post ever on rideliquid.com. Mark it on your calendars so you can say I remember when. Of course, as it’s the first post ever, there’s probably few people reading it. Note to self: Save the really good stuff until later in the month.

So what’s RideLiquid all about? Mainly the things I’ve been writing about in the print industry for decades — personal watercraft, wakeboarding, waterskiing, boating, towables — pretty much anything you can ride on liquid. For nearly 25 years I’ve written about these topics extensively for leading magazines and websites like Boating, Watercraft World, Ride, and PersonalWatercraft.com. First, however, I lived the lifestyle. I grew up waterskiing, bought my first stand-up Jet Ski at 16, competed as both an amateur and professional PWC freestyler, even tore my ACL wakeboarding. (That latter one is kind of like a rapper going to jail…instant street cred.) In other words, I’m an enthusiast. These pastimes led me to my job, not the other way around.

RideLiquid, however, is part of a much bigger picture. It’s the personal watercraft and watersports arm of BoaterMouth.com, a 12-person team of leading marine writers dedicated to bringing you daily news on every aspect of the boating world, from powerboats to sailboats, fishing to boat maintenance. We’ll be blogging, tweeting, and Facebooking our Googles off to bring you timely information in a modern fashion. Yeah, we’re big time…word is we’ve even got hats.

So if anyone’s reading post numero uno, tell your friends. Soon I’ll be covering news, sharing expert product reviews, maybe even sharing a video or two. Whatever happens, it promises to be one heck of a ride.
