Ellen Makes PWC-Inspired Entrance on Tuesday Broadcast
Talk-show host Ellen Degeneres will be making a PWC-themed entrance onto the stage of her show during Tuesday’s broadcast. I know because I saw it being filmed yesterday at Universal’s City Walk in Orlando. Long story short, the ellen show (yes, they lowercase it, grammar police) contacted WaterTop Unlimited’s Tim McKercher for help in putting together a watersports-themed intro, I got the heads up through a stuntman connection (hey Kurt Hockenberry!), was already in town for the weekend anyway, so I made my way to the 12:00 taping. No, I didn’t get any great insider stuff for a story, but I did get to watch from a choice spot across the lagoon as first a GTI flying kites roared across the lagoon, followed by McKercher firing up a WAKE 155 and headed for a ramp with the show logo plastered across the side.
What happened? I’ll keep the secret until tomorrow’s show. But here’s a hint…someone who looked very much like Ellen was pulling off some impressive moves out on the water. My investigative reporter’s eye also spotted someone who looked very much like Ellen hiding behind some plants backstage, out of sight of the audience.
You’ll just have to watch tomorrow to see the result, but either way it was some great mainstream exposure for PWC, as well as another feather in the cap for McKercher, WaterTop, and Sea-Doo.
Here’s a preview…
